Shamanism is one of the oldest most wide spread spiritual practises in the world and centres around healing, connection, spiritual harmony and ceremony. Shamanism has deep roots in cultures from all over the globe. Shamanic practitioners generally work with spirit allies to balance energies and restore spiritual power, not just in people but in communities, animals, nature and places. No two Shamanic practitioners are the same, Shamanism has many different lineages and each Shamanic practitioner will typically have their own way of communicating with their own guides and will also have their own methods and equipment. Though there are commonalities through all Shamanic cultures. A common Shamanic practise is to journey, Shamanic practitioners use drumming to enter an altered state in which they can communicate with their spirit allies and receive information. To the outside world journeying would seem like a meditation but it’s very different, when meditating we clear the mind but when journeying the Shamanic practitioner is communicating with unseen energies. Intrusion extraction and soul retrieval are also common Shamanic practises. A person’s energy or soul can become imbalanced or depleted due to a range of reasons including trauma, sickness, stress, loss and lots more…. this can cause a range of side effects that can be emotional, physical, spiritual and mental. Through connection to spirit allies a Shamanic practitioner can identify and remove unwanted energetic intrusions safely, cover any voids those intrusions left open and restore parts of the soul. Other common practises include ceremonies, rituals, divination, herbal medicine, healing circles, counselling, playing musical instruments, singing, chanting, dancing and spending time in nature.
